After finding your "why" and starting your weight loss journey (or any other journey you are on), I can promise you - things will get hard. There will be bumps in the road. You will second guess yourself. You will want to quit. This is why you need a "mantra". Just a little saying or thought that you can repeat, write down, put on a t-shirt or a necklace or bracelet that will remind you of your "why" and push you through those dark moments.
My mantra is, "Put your pearls on and push through." You see, when I was obese, pearls were my security blanket. I would put pearls on to feel beautiful and confident. I would wear pearls to special education meetings for my son and clutch them between my fingers if I needed "bravery" before speaking. When I started on my weight loss journey - I would wear pearls when I worked out to give me my little dose of "confidence" and "bravery". When stuff got hard... I said, "Come on Tiffany... Push through.. push through...." so "Put your pearls on and push through" was born.
I used my "mantra" to get through my first 90 days at Extreme Weight Loss Boot Camp... I pushed through pain, and fear and missing my son. I repeated my mantra daily to remind me of my WHY... (Mason) and what it meant to push through... being the best mom I could be.
